HEARTS in ActionLiving Lab

From coherence to
collaborative realisation and prosperity
through innovative projects and fundraising

Turning ideas, expertise and resources into collaborative action

Great ideas are abundant. Collaborative realisation is far less common.

What is often missing is a practical pathway, and a community able to connect the right people, knowledge, technology, finance and implementation capacity. HEARTS in Action is that meeting place.

Imagine a relaxed but productive environment connecting public institutions, civil society organisations, entrepreneurs, researchers, experts, investors, creatives and practitioners around real needs and promising opportunities.

Take part in a focused seven day Summit programme, and a year round online and on site Living Lab supporting project development, partnerships, fundraising and implementation.

If you have an idea, a solution, a resource, a need or a problem, or want to contribute expertise, networks, technology, infrastructure or finance, you are welcome to join.

The free HEARTS in Action Intro Workshop

This practical session helps participants clarify project concepts, prepare proposals for consideration as Live Cases and explore potential fit with the post Summit 3WISE project pipeline.

The Living Lab journey

The journey begins with project preparation before the Summit, moves through four intensive and connected phases during the seven day gathering, and continues afterwards through selected project teams and the year round 3WISE project pipeline.

Before

Prepare

Free Intro Workshop, expression of interest and Live Case preparation.

During

4 connected phases

Seven days on the Adriatic, working in multidisciplinary teams on real Live Cases.

After

Continue

The 3WISE project pipeline and year round ecosystem support for selected teams.

01

Mapping and connecting

During the Summit

The opening phase introduces the process, builds personal and group coherence, and helps participants define desirable individual and collective futures.

Needs, ideas, initiatives, projects and available resources are mapped, including people, organisations, networks, knowledge, evidence, technology, finance, infrastructure and implementation capacity.

This phase also initiates the collaborative game inspired by Picigin and PlayKind, examples of Game B approaches that invite cooperation, creativity and shared success. Live Case teams begin forming through a World Café format, with tables and hosts for selected projects and initiatives.

02

Structuring and modelling

During the Summit

Live Cases are structured as projects, programmes or ventures with clearer objectives, beneficiaries, indicators of success, activities, resources, responsibilities and roadmaps.

Read moreShow less

Participants develop collaboration and business models, partnerships and potential consortia. Because some initiatives are already advanced and others are at an early stage, each Live Case follows a personalised development pathway.

03

Resourcing and experimenting

During the Summit

Teams build practical sourcing and fundraising roadmaps combining expertise and partnerships with grants, sponsorship, philanthropy, crowdfunding, blended finance and impact investment.

Read moreShow less

This phase is guided by an international team that has helped design, finance and deliver hundreds of innovation and development projects worth several hundred million euro. Early experimentation and testing run alongside the resourcing work, so that assumptions are checked before commitments grow.

04

Optimising and scaling

During the Summit

The final Summit phase prepares Live Cases for coordinated post Summit action, further testing, fundraising, investment readiness, implementation and scaling.

Read moreShow less

Teams clarify their next commitments, responsibilities and decision points, and prepare a practical 90 day action pathway.

Participants also explore how well designed projects, ventures and collaborative ecosystems can create and steward different forms of wealth, financial, human, social, intellectual, cultural and ecological, while generating sustainable value for individuals, families, organisations, communities and the planet.

05

Realisation and impact

After the Summit

Selected project teams continue with the year round support ecosystem, connecting with experts, mentors, researchers, fundraisers, investors, public institutions, companies, civil society organisations and implementation partners.

Work continues on project development, financing, experimentation, testing, optimisation, implementation and scaling, supported by the HEARTS in Action platform, masterclasses, project consortium meetups, mentoring relationships and regular online and on site meetings.

What happens after the Summit?

The Global HEARTS Community and the 3WISE Worldwide Wise Innovation and Investment Ecosystem form the year round support ecosystem for HEARTS in Action.

Through their multidisciplinary Living Labs and partner networks, selected project teams can connect with experts, mentors, researchers, fundraisers, investors, public institutions, companies, civil society organisations and implementation partners. The aim is to increase the probability that promising initiatives move from inspiring concepts to sustainable projects, ventures and measurable impact.

New editions of the Adria HEARTS Summit are in preparation for 2027, alongside the possibility of HEARTS in Action Labs in other locations where committed local partners and communities emerge. This continuing ecosystem is designed to bridge the realisation gap and connect individual wellbeing and human development with stronger organisations, communities, economies and ecosystems.
